Overview

We are seeking a skilled

Handy Man / Woman

to join our maintenance company, 2 or 3 days a week, weekends are not required.

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Handy Man to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a diverse set of skills to perform various maintenance and repair tasks in residential and commercial properties. This role requires a proactive individual who can work independently, ensuring that all jobs are completed to a high standard.

The hours would not be split over 5 days, it would be 2 or 3 full days a week. Which 2 or 3 days of the week, the candidate was to work, would be agreed ahead of start. There is room for some flexibility on days, should there be a need.

Our base is TR4, Truro, but we cover Cornwall.

We have a varied role, covering a range of tasks (a few named below)

Pressure washing Leak investigations Aco drain cleaning Bin store clearing Coping stone repairs Painting and decorating (small scale) Bin store repairs Fencing repairs Carpark line painting Smaller scale repairs from rip out to finish
The following would be an advantage, but not a necessity;

Block laying Wet stone walling Rendering Building jobs Plastering Window / door fitting Plumbing Electrics
The ideal candidate will possess a diverse, well rounded practicale skill set, with knowledge of building trades. Ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards is paramount. This role requires hands-on experience and the ability to work independantly, whilst using your initiative - as well as collaboratively within a team.

The ability to be able to know what tools / sundries will be needed from verbal information or pictures, and complete tasks independently, is required.

Responsibilities and relevent skills required

Construct and assemble structures using hand tools and power tools Engage in masonry work for bricklaying and stone setting (if experience allows) Conduct painting and finishing tasks Tasks as listed above Collaborate with other tradespeople to complete projects efficiently Maintain a clean and safe work environment, by following health and safety regulations Manage work flow (for own self, not a greater team) Manage diary to best utalise travel time Keep accurate records of work completed and materials used

Will require

Full clean driving licence Experience References will be required
The role is self employed and you will require your own basic tools and a van. Any business specific tools will be bought by the business. the successful candidate will also need your own insurance.

The success candidate will have milage paid to and from their home address daily. They will have an expenses card for any sundry expenses required for jobs.

There is no administrative duties, there is admin support.

Wages are paid weekly, on the last day or their working week.
