Job Overview


We are seeking a skilled and reliable Handy Man to join our team in Huddersfield . The ideal candidate will possess a diverse range of maintenance skills and be able to tackle various tasks around residential and commercial properties. This role requires a proactive approach, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team working throughout the Yorkshire region.

Responsibilities



Perform general caretaking, maintenance and repairs on buildings, including plumbing, carpentry and painting tasks. Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment to identify issues needing attention. Respond promptly to maintenance requests from clients or management. Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with safety regulations and standards. Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition and ensure proper storage after use. Assist with the installation of fixtures, fittings, and appliances as required. Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide excellent customer service.

Qualifications



Enhanced DBS on the update service is an advantage. A new DBS check will be completed if required. Trade qualification an advantage. Proven experience as a Handy Person or in a similar maintenance role is preferred. Strong knowledge of various repair techniques and maintenance tasks. Ability to read technical manuals, drawings, and blueprints. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Good physical condition and strength; ability to lift heavy objects safely when necessary. A valid driver's licence is essential. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a friendly disposition.
