Head Barista - Speciality Coffee

This is a hybrid role split between our Caerphilly and Newport sites. Please only apply if you are able to work across both locations, as the role cannot be based in a single shop.

We are looking for a skilled and passionate

Head Barista / Supervisor

to join our team and work across LongPlay Coffee in Caerphilly and Parc Pantry in Malpas, Newport.

Both shops are known for excellent coffee, fresh food, and a relaxed, welcoming vibe. We care about doing things properly - from dialling in espresso to steaming milk with precision - and we want someone who shares that pride in quality.

What you will do

Lead by example in preparing high quality coffee and drinks with care and consistency Dial in espresso, understand extraction, yield, and recipe ratios Confidently steam milk for all drinks, including alternative milks Support and guide barista team members, helping to train and up skill others Assist with food preparation and kitchen support when needed Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workspace Create a welcoming atmosphere for customers with genuine hospitality Work with management to support smooth daily operations across both shops

What you will bring

Minimum 1 year barista experience in speciality coffee (essential)

Strong knowledge of espresso, brew methods, and milk texturing Competent latte art skills (essential) Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage time effectively A positive, team-focused attitude with the confidence to lead when required Genuine passion for hospitality and customer service

The details

Salary:

22000 - 25,750 per year (depending on hours worked and experience)

Contract:

Full-time, Permanent (0 hours contract, flexible to workload)

Hours:

30-40 hours per week (hybrid role across both shops)

Expenses:

Mileage expenses paid depending on location

Immediate start available
