We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen team in delivering exceptional culinary experiences. We don't really do titles, but you are probably a sous looking to take the next step.
We are a small operation and team, we have been able to grow and become one of the highest rated restaurants in Guildford and we now need a lead person to help us grow our private dining room and events side.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in hospitality and food preparation, with the ability to manage a team effectively while ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality.
As Head Chef, you will oversee all kitchen operations, from menu creation with the owner (ex Roux) to food production, ensuring that our restaurant maintains its reputation for excellence.
Duties
Supervise and coordinate the small kitchen staff team and take responsibility for growing it in line with the needs of the business to ensure efficient food production and service.
Ensure that all food preparation meets health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment.
Train, mentor, and motivate kitchen staff to enhance their skills in cooking and food safety practices.
Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and order as necessary to maintain stock levels.
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the kitchen at all times.
Assist in the recruitment process for new kitchen staff as needed.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Sous of Second Chef or in a similar role within the restaurant industry.
Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food preparation.
Excellent team management skills with the ability to inspire and lead a diverse team.
Creativity in menu design and an understanding of current culinary trends.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on collaboration within the team.
