Role Overview:



We are looking for an experienced and ambitious

Head Chef

to lead the kitchen at

The Bothy & Seasonal Milk Bar

--our award-winning cafe and central kitchen hub. This is a key leadership role at the heart of a dynamic, food-focused business. You'll have full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the kitchen while also playing a strategic role in product development across the wider business, including our butchery and bakery.

Key Responsibilities:



Lead, inspire, and develop the kitchen team to produce consistently outstanding food Design and cost seasonal menus that celebrate local produce--especially our own buffalo meat and dairy Manage kitchen operations: from prep and service to cleanliness, hygiene, and stock control Oversee compliance with all food safety, hygiene, and allergen standards Take a leading role in New Product Development (NPD) for

Boglily

, working closely with our butchery and bakery teams Collaborate with the farm shop team to curate and maintain attractive and well-stocked bread, veg, and bakery displays Oversee the preparation of "cook-off" hero products for sale in the shop by the kitchen and bakery team Maintain portion control, drive cost efficiency, and monitor margins regularly Plan rotas within labour budget and ensure adequate cover when off Contribute to creative initiatives such as themed pop-up nights to showcase Boglily produce

Person Specification:



Essential:



Proven experience as a Head Chef or strong Sous Chef ready to step up Deep passion for local, seasonal food and creative cooking Experience managing a team and developing kitchen talent Sound understanding of cost control, margin management, and kitchen finance Strong organisational skills, adaptable, and calm under pressure Enthusiastic about The Buffalo Farm's ethos and growth

Desirable:



Previous experience in a production kitchen environment Food hygiene and allergen awareness certification (or willingness to obtain)
