The successful Head Chef will be responsible for planning and preparing food, developing menus, and overseeing the kitchen staff. In addition, the Head Chef will also be required to oversee special events and orders. The Head Chef will be responsible for working closely with a team of cooks and management to ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner and that all safety regulations are followed. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of nutritional food preparation and have the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Maintain a clean and sanitary workspace. Monitor food preparation, storage and handling to ensure proper food safety procedures. Ensure that food quality and presentation meet or exceed customer expectations. Prepare special requests for customers and recommend selections that are consistent with the restaurant's style, budget and theme to create a memorable dining experience. Provide training to and guide other cooks in all aspects of the service industry to prepare them for promotions within the company.
