What You'll Be Doing



As

Head Chef

,

1. Menu Implementation and oversight



Ensure dishes meet quality standards and reflect the restaurant's concept. Have knowledge in Mexican ingredients and cuisine.

2. Staff Management



Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate kitchen staff (sous chefs, line cooks, etc.). Delegate tasks efficiently and maintain team morale. Create staff schedules and ensure adequate kitchen coverage.

3. Kitchen Operations Oversight



Supervise all food preparation and cooking to maintain consistency and quality. Monitor portion sizes and presentation. Maintain kitchen cleanliness and organization in line with health and safety standards.

4. Budgeting & Cost Control



Manage food costs, reduce waste, and optimize inventory usage. Source and negotiate with suppliers. Track kitchen expenses and adjust purchasing or pricing as needed.

5. Health & Safety Compliance



Enforce hygiene, sanitation, and food safety regulations. Ensure all kitchen staff follow safe food handling practices. Stay updated with local and national food safety laws.

6. Quality Control



Taste and inspect dishes regularly. Address customer complaints related to food quality. Implement systems to ensure consistency in taste and presentation.

7. Collaboration & Communication



Work closely with front-of-house staff to coordinate service and resolve issues. Communicate effectively with management regarding kitchen needs or challenges. Represent the kitchen in management meetings.

Package includes membership of an independently managed tronc arrangement through which service charge is allocated outside of and in addition to your basic pay from your employment. Hourly amount shown is indicative, based on current tronc allocations, and actual pay may vary based on service charge collected.
