Job Description

We're seeking a passionate and experienced

Head Chef

to lead the kitchen at

The Slaughterhouse

, one of Guernsey's most iconic and vibrant dining destinations. This is a unique opportunity to take creative control of a dynamic kitchen, delivering bold, seasonal menus in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. You'll be responsible for overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations - from menu design and team leadership to quality control and cost management.

Key Responsibilities:



Lead and manage the kitchen team to deliver high standards of food and service Create and develop seasonal menus that reflect current food trends and local ingredients Oversee food preparation, stock control, ordering, and cost management Ensure all kitchen operations comply with hygiene and safety regulations Train, mentor, and develop junior staff members Work collaboratively with front-of-house and management teams

Requirements:



Proven experience as a Head Chef or strong Senior Sous Chef in a high-volume kitchen Creativity and a passion for excellent food Strong leadership and communication skills Excellent understanding of food safety, hygiene, and cost control Food Hygiene Level 3 (or willingness to obtain) Eligible to work in the UK or Channel Islands
