Overview



Head Chef required for award winning cafe, no evenings or split shifts.

We are seeking a talented and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen team in delivering food for our farm shop cafe. The ideal candidate will have experience in food production and a strong background in restaurant/cafe operations. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all kitchen activities, ensuring food safety standards are met, and managing a team of cooks to create delicious and innovative dishes that delight our guests.

Please note we are in a rural position between Swindon and Marlborough where public transport links are very limited so your own transport is advisable. We have ample free parking on site.

Responsibilities



Lead the kitchen team in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes. Supervise daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficiency and adherence to food safety regulations. Develop and design menus that reflect our country rustic themes while considering cost-effectiveness. Train, mentor, and manage kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment. Oversee inventory management, including ordering supplies and minimising waste. Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in compliance with health regulations. Collaborate with front-of-house staff and management to ensure seamless service delivery.

Skills



Proven experience in food production within a restaurant/cafe setting. Strong supervisory skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively. In-depth knowledge of food safety standards and best practices. Excellent culinary skills with a passion for creating innovative dishes. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong organisational skills with the capability to multitask effectively. Excellent communication skills to facilitate teamwork and collaboration.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 37,500.00-42,500.00 per year
