Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen team at The Flintgate in Weybridge. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pub or restaurant kitchens and a proven track record of managing kitchen operations. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing food preparation, ensuring high standards of quality and presentation, and fostering a positive work environment within the kitchen. Your leadership skills will be essential in guiding your team to deliver exceptional dining experiences for our guests.
Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate all kitchen activities, ensuring efficient food production and service.
Plan and create innovative menus that reflect current culinary trends while catering to guest preferences.
Oversee food preparation processes, ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations.
Manage inventory, ordering supplies, and maintaining stock levels to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Train, mentor, and develop kitchen staff, promoting teamwork and high performance.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in compliance with hygiene standards.
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
Monitor food quality and presentation, making adjustments as necessary to meet standards.
Skills
Proven experience as a Cook or in a similar role within a professional kitchen environment.
Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food preparation methods, and hospitality standards.
Excellent leadership abilities with experience in supervising and managing a team.
Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with both kitchen staff and front-of-house teams.
A passion for food production and creativity in menu design.
Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
