The Albert, a popular and well-regarded restaurant in the heart of Bowness, is seeking a talented and dedicated Head Chef to lead our kitchen team. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality, delicious food using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Salary starting at 45,000 per annum rising to 48,000 after successful probation period, opportunity for 600 per month target related bonus.
About the Role:
As Head Chef, you will be responsible for the overall management and smooth running of our kitchen. This includes:
Menu Development: Creating innovative and exciting dishes that reflect the restaurant's style and cater to our diverse clientele.
Kitchen Management: Overseeing all kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
Team Leadership: Leading, motivating, and training the kitchen team, ensuring high standards of performance and professionalism.
Inventory Management: Ordering and managing food supplies, minimizing waste, and controlling costs.
Health & Safety: Maintaining the highest standards of food hygiene and safety in accordance with all regulations.
Quality Control: Ensuring consistent quality and presentation of all dishes.
Budget Management: Working within budget constraints and contributing to the financial success of the kitchen.
About You:
Proven experience as a Head Chef or Sous Chef in a similar high-quality restaurant environment.
A passion for food and a commitment to culinary excellence.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of food hygiene and safety regulations (e.g., HACCP).
Creative flair and a desire to innovate.
Formal culinary qualifications are desirable but not essential
