Responsibilities
Lead and supervise the kitchen team, including chefs and kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive working environment
Oversee food production processes to ensure dishes meet quality standards and customer expectations
Develop and update menus in collaboration with management, incorporating seasonal ingredients and current culinary trends
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of hygiene throughout the kitchen
Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies and reducing waste to optimise costs
Train staff on food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and serving procedures
Monitor kitchen operations during service hours to ensure smooth workflow and timely delivery of orders
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment at all times
Skills
Proven supervising experience within a busy restaurant or hospitality setting
Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in food preparation and cooking techniques
Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate staff and foster teamwork
In-depth knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
Strong leadership qualities with the ability to make decisions under pressure
Exceptional organisational skills with attention to detail in food presentation and quality control
Experience in menu development, food production, and hospitality operations
Good communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and management
Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable, along with serving knowledge to enhance guest interactions
