We are seeking a talented and experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food production and preparation, along with proven leadership skills to manage a team. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring food safety standards are met, and maintaining great standards within our premises.
We are aiming to offer a 4 day working week in order to help with a good work-life balance. Must be able to work weekends as well as evenings. Approximately 40-45 hours a week (10/11am-8/9pm).
Duties
Supervise and coordinate all kitchen activities, ensuring efficient food production and service.
Lead the culinary team in the preparation and presentation of good fresh food dishes.
Maintain good stock control, ordering supplies and managing stock levels to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen at all times.
Train, mentor, and develop kitchen staff to enhance their culinary skills and promote teamwork.
Work with management on new menu ideas for events and functions.
Maintain a positive working environment with a good work ethic.
Skills
The ability to work well in a fast-paced kitchen environment and multitask effectively under pressure.
Good knowledge of food production, preparation and cooking techniques and ensuring all food safety regulations are being followed.
Excellent team management skills with the ability to lead by example.
Previous culinary experience in a restaurant setting is essential. Minimum of 2 years experience in same job role.
Be motivated in improving sales, meeting targets and creating good dining experiences for customers.
