Duties
Lead and supervise the kitchen team, including chefs and kitchen staff, ensuring smooth daily operations
Develop and design creative menus that reflect current culinary trends while maintaining consistency and quality
Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to meet high standards of taste and visual appeal
Manage food production processes, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness without compromising quality
Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards across the kitchen
Monitor inventory levels, place orders for supplies, and manage stock control to minimise waste
Train staff on food safety procedures, proper cooking techniques, and customer service standards
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery during busy periods
Organise staff schedules, delegate tasks effectively, and foster a positive team environment
Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation within the kitchen environment
Qualifications
Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen environment
Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in food production and preparation
Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively
Solid knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene standards
Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is highly desirable
Excellent skills in food preparation, cooking, and serving techniques
Strong organisational abilities with the capacity to manage multiple priorities under pressure
Passion for innovation in cuisine coupled with attention to detail in presentation and quality assurance
