Nestled in the heart of the Somerset countryside near Rode, our pub is known for its warm atmosphere, exceptional food, and community spirit. We serve a menu of hearty British classics with a modern twist, along with daily specials inspired by what's in season.
The Role
As Head Chef, you'll have full autonomy over the kitchen, menu planning, and team leadership. You'll be responsible for maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, and kitchen efficiency.
Responsibilities include:
Designing and delivering a seasonal, locally-sourced menu
Managing a small but skilled kitchen team
Maintaining stock levels, GP targets, and food safety standards
Liaising with local suppliers and producers
Ensuring a positive and professional kitchen culture
About You
We're looking for someone with:
? Proven experience in a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef role
? A genuine passion for fresh, locally-sourced food
? Strong leadership and organisational skills
? A creative flair for menu development
? High standards of cleanliness and food hygiene (Level 2/3 Food Safety preferred)
