Vivido is a family run, very busy restaurant in the heart of Harrogate. We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our experienced kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Italian, Mediterranean cooking, with a focus on food production and safety. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation and menu creation, while also managing a team of chefs and kitchen staff and covering where necessary during team absenc.
Responsibilities
Supervise and manage kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation and service.
Oversee food production processes, ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations.
Develop and implement menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and culinary trends.
Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and taste.
Train and mentor kitchen staff in cooking techniques, food safety practices, and hospitality standards.
Manage inventory levels, ordering supplies as needed to maintain stock.
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service during busy periods.
Monitor kitchen operations to identify areas for improvement in efficiency and quality.
Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen environment.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar culinary leadership role.
Strong supervisory experience with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively.
Extensive knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods.
Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in the kitchen.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
Previous experience in a restaurant setting is Required.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of food production.
A passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional dining experiences.
