We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head Chef to lead our culinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality food, maintaining exceptional standards of food safety, and inspiring a team of culinary professionals. Responsibilities
Lead and supervise the kitchen team, including chefs and kitchen assistants, ensuring smooth daily operations.
Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to maintain high standards of quality, presentation, and consistency.
Develop innovative menus in collaboration with management, considering seasonal ingredients and current culinary trends.
Ensure strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards across all kitchen activities.
Manage inventory, order supplies, and control food costs to optimise efficiency and minimise waste.
Train and mentor staff to enhance their skills, promote teamwork, and uphold organisational standards.
Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely service and excellent guest satisfaction.
Monitor kitchen equipment maintenance and cleanliness to ensure a safe working environment.
Assist in recruiting new team members and conducting performance appraisals.
Qualifications
Proven supervising experience within a busy restaurant or hospitality environment.
Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in food production, preparation, and cooking techniques.
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene standards.
Previous experience in restaurant management or as a Head Chef is highly desirable.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with staff and management.
