We are seeking a talented and experienced Head Chef to lead our small kitchen team and oversee all aspects of food production and preparation. The ideal candidate will possess a strong culinary background, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality dishes in our small but fast-paced restaurant environment. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for maintaining food safety standards, managing kitchen operations, and ensuring an exceptional dining experience for our guests.
Duties
Supervise and manage kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient working environment.
Oversee food production processes, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
Develop and implement menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and culinary trends while catering to customer preferences.
Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards throughout the kitchen.
Train and mentor kitchen staff in food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and best practices in hospitality.
Monitor inventory levels, ordering supplies as necessary to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery and guest satisfaction.
Conduct regular quality checks on food items before they are served to guests.
Experience
Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a senior kitchen role within a pub and/or restaurant setting.
Strong background in food production, preparation, and cooking techniques.
Demonstrated supervisory experience with the ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in the culinary field.
Previous experience in menu development and cost control is advantageous.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a high-pressure environment.
