Duties
Lead and supervise the kitchen team, fostering a positive and productive working environment
Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to ensure consistency, quality, and presentation standards are met
Develop innovative menus in collaboration with management, catering to diverse customer preferences
Manage food safety protocols, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
Coordinate daily kitchen operations, including inventory control, ordering supplies, and maintaining cleanliness
Train and mentor junior staff to enhance their skills and promote professional development
Monitor food costs and optimise utilisation of ingredients to maximise efficiency without compromising quality
Ensure excellent service delivery by collaborating with front-of-house staff during service hours
Qualifications
Proven supervising experience within a busy kitchen or restaurant environment
Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in food production and preparation
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively
Solid knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
Experience in restaurant or hospitality settings with a focus on high-quality service delivery
Proficiency in food presentation, cooking techniques, and menu development
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and management
