Job Summary


We're looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Engineering & Product Development Lead to drive innovation and excellence across our product range. Primary responsibilities;



Promote, manage and lead by company values

Ensure that we are up to date with current and future engineering / product standards to ensure full compliance

Lead engineering & product management projects

Product research & development

Product design

Management of engineering Bill of Materials

Product documentation

Product spares listings

Value engineering with a continuous improvement philosophy

Drive complexity reduction and having a good appreciation of the costs of complexity

Support customer services with customer "customer first approach", product and installation technical support, warranty, etc

Manage engineering projects with weekly review (leading and managing with transparency)

Monitor KPI's regularly and address performance issues / deviations

Ensure full compliance with all Health & Safety, Environmental and Legal rules, standards, best practice, etc at all times

Secondary responsibilities;



Collaborate and support leadership and management team in the pursuit of team / company objectives

Conduct employee performance appraisals & development plans

Support the Supply Chain team with supplier selection and management (cost savings / dual sourcing)

Support Sales / Business Development activities

Support After Sales and Customer Training needs

Support complexity management

Objectives:



Customer comes first -proactivelyidentify and resolve issues, implementing without delay to protect the customer and the business.

Remove complexity (modularity, standardization, reduce part numbers)

Ensure and report monthly on compliance (current and future) with required action plans

Conduct routinely value engineering, seeking input and the collection of ideas from operations, installers, engineers and customers

Conduct market / competitor analysis, reviewing and benchmarking against competitor's product offerings

Help to put Wessex products back into a product leadership position while achieving target costs

Develop materials / tools (APP, remote diagnostics, product diagnostics, videos, spares manuals, etc) that will facilitate stakeholders to better improve customer service, value and lead times

Own and drive the development of an in-house PCB and software solution

Required Skills and Qualifications



Proven experience in engineering and product development

Strong understanding of current engineering standards and regulatory compliance

Proficient in product design and value engineering methodologies

Experience managing engineering Bills of Materials (BOMs) and technical documentation

Ability to apply continuous improvement and complexity reduction strategies

Solid understanding of product cost structures and cost-control techniques

Strong project management skills, including tracking KPIs and leading regular reviews

Commitment to Health & Safety, Environmental, and Legal compliance

Customer-focused mindset with a proactive, problem-solving approach

Strong analytical and decision-making abilities

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, change-driven environment

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 40,000.00-45,000.00 per year
