About No More Waste Technologies



No More Waste Technologies is a purpose-driven, pre-launch tech startup building an intelligent platform that reduces food waste and improves community food access through smart, automated surplus-food redistribution. We partner with retailers, hospitality businesses, couriers, and community organisations to ensure surplus food is captured, redistributed, and tracked efficiently.

We are currently developing our MVP and building a small but highly capable founding team across Product, Technology, Finance, Business Development, and Corporate Services.

Role Overview



We are seeking an exceptionally organised and strategic Head of Corporate Services with a strong legal background to lead and manage all corporate governance, HR, and legal functions across the business.

This is a senior leadership role ideal for someone who is:

legally trained (solicitor, legal advisor, or equivalent experience),

comfortable operating in early-stage startup environments,

able to build department structure from scratch,

eager to take ownership of governance, contracts, compliance, and people operations.

The person will work directly with the CEO and collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, Finance, and Business Development.

Key Responsibilities



1. Legal & Compliance (Primary Focus)

Oversee all legal matters affecting the company.

Draft, review, and negotiate contracts (merchant agreements, courier agreements, NDAs, ToS, privacy policies, partnership contracts, etc.).

Ensure regulatory compliance (UK GDPR, data protection, employment law).

Support IP strategy and manage any filings where required.

Develop risk frameworks, internal policies, and compliance processes.

Advise leadership on governance, liability, regulation, and organisational risk.

2. Corporate Governance

Establish company-wide governance processes and internal controls.

Maintain company registers, records, and filings.

Support fundraising processes (due diligence, investor documents, cap table discipline).

Prepare board documentation and support a future Company Secretary function.

Ensure organisational policies remain up-to-date and legally compliant.

3. People & Culture (HR Leadership)

Build HR processes from the ground up (onboarding, policies, contracts, culture development).

Develop volunteer and employee agreements aligned with company structure.

Advise management on employment law and people-related issues.

Coordinate performance management and support a healthy team culture.

Support development of equitable compensation frameworks and future ESOP structure.

4. Strategic & Cross-Functional Support

Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO on legal, regulatory, and organisational matters.

Support finance and business development teams on contracting, negotiations, and risk oversight.

Assist Product & Engineering with compliance relating to data processing and automated systems.

Contribute to investor readiness, due diligence preparation, and organisational documentation.

Required Skills & Experience



Strong legal background (LLB/JD, LPC/SQE, or equivalent experience).

Experience in drafting and reviewing commercial contracts.

Knowledge of UK GDPR, employment legislation, and corporate governance.

Ability to build corporate structures and policies from scratch.

Strong communication, organisation, and advisory skills.

Comfortable working in a dynamic startup environment.

Experience in technology, SaaS, food systems, or regulated sectors is a bonus.
