An enthusiastic, dynamic and inspirational Head of Maths is required to join a stable and supportive department at St Mary's.

This is an incredibly exciting opportunity for a candidate who is eager to be part of an organisation committed to securing the very highest educational standards for students. The Maths Department is established and collaborative, but outcomes are in need of significant and rapid improvement. We are therefore seeking someone with the skills, experience and determination to drive the team forward and deliver the improvements our students deserve. They will lead from the front, working closely with Maths colleagues, senior leaders, the Maths Hub and HFCMAT to build capacity and secure sustainable improvements.

We are looking for a Head of Department who:


Wants to transform children's lives and develop a love of Maths.


Can be accountable for student progress and development within the subject area


Is an excellent classroom practitioner


Can effectively manage and deploy teaching/support staff, financial and physical resources within the department to support the designated subject portfolio


Can lead a department and develop and enhance the teaching practice of others


Work well with staff and students alike


Wants to join a community of schools that promotes the formation of young people into successful citizens


Is interested in developing their practice and committed to their own professional development
