RecQuest is partnering with a well-regarded independent law firm in Winchester to appoint a Head of Private Client--and they're looking for someone with the technical expertise and the strategic drive to shape the future of the department.

This is a standout opportunity for a senior lawyer who's ready to take the reins and lead with both compassion and commercial acumen. You'll have the freedom to grow the team, refine processes, and play a central role in the firm's long-term development.

What the role involves:

Leading on a wide range of private client matters including Wills, Probate, Powers of Attorney, Trusts, and Tax Planning Managing relationships with high-net-worth clients and growing the department's portfolio Driving the department's expansion--including hiring, mentoring, and developing its strategic direction Collaborating with the leadership team to align legal delivery with the firm's growth ambitions Providing clear and confident advice with sensitivity to the client's personal circumstances
What we're looking for:

Minimum 5 years' PQE in private client law Strong technical knowledge across estate planning and administration A client-focused, empathetic approach with sharp commercial awareness Proven leadership skills and a desire to build a high-performing, trusted team
