Salary from 62,495 to 72,152 pa inclusive with potential to progress to 79,809 pa inclusive of London allowance






The role





In this strategic leadership position, you'll oversee the School's portfolio of Widening Participation (WP) programmes and developing LSE's widening access and participation strategy to meet our Access and Participation Plan (APP) commitments and targets. Following the approval of the School's new APP, you will be responsible for launching exciting new interventions that respond to our new strategic priorities, including developing new partnerships and collaborative activities. You'll provide expert guidance and input into the implementation and monitoring of the School's Access and Participation Plan, contributing to the development of a 'whole student lifecycle' approach to access and participation and ensuring it aligns with LSE's Shaping the World strategy.




The team and wider context





The Widening Participation Team's work directly contributes to the School strategy, Shaping the World, and supports our goals for advancing equity, diversity and inclusion. The WP Team works with colleagues across the School to meet the ambitious commitments in our APP with the regulator, the Office for Students.





The WP Team has primary responsibility for:


Development, delivery and evaluation of widening participation activities and programmes
Leadership of overall access intervention strategies within the Access and Participation Plan



What we're looking for





Someone with the ability to provide clear direction for the Widening Participation Team and to deliver on strategic objectives. Essential skills and experience include:


Experience of developing, implementing and reporting on strategic and operational plans for widening access and participation

In-depth knowledge of the operating environment for widening access and participation and equity, diversity and inclusion in the UK education sector
Experience of making significant contributions to Access and Participation Plans to meet regulatory requirements
Ability to bring together data from multiple sources of quantitative and qualitative evidence to draw strategic conclusions, make recommendations and deliver change
