Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Head Server to join our dynamic team in a vibrant pub/restaurant environment. The Head Server will play a crucial role in ensuring exceptional guest experiences by providing outstanding service, managing the serving staff, and maintaining the highest standards of food safety and quality. This position requires a strong background in hospitality and restaurant operations, along with excellent leadership skills.

Duties

Oversee daily operations of the dining area, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for guests. Lead and train serving staff on best practices in guest service and food safety protocols. Manage seating arrangements and ensure efficient table turnover using our online booking system, while maintaining high service standards. Assist in food preparation when necessary, ensuring all dishes meet quality standards before serving. Engage with guests to enhance their dining experience, including upselling menu items and addressing any concerns promptly. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the dining area, adhering to health and safety regulations. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely food delivery and resolve any issues that may arise during service. Utilise basic math skills for accurate bill processing and cash handling.

Qualifications

Proven experience in a restaurant setting, preferably in a supervisory or leadership role. Strong knowledge of hospitality principles, including guest services and food safety regulations. Experience in serving, food preparation, and kitchen operations is highly desirable. Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively during busy periods. Strong communication skills to interact positively with guests and team members alike. A passion for culinary excellence and a keen eye for detail in service delivery.
