Summary



We are seeking a Health & Safety Co-ordinator to join our team at Talasey Ltd. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing safety protocols and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Your contributions will be vital in maintaining a safe working environment and promoting a culture of safety within the organisation.

Responsibilities



Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations. Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards. Prepare detailed reports on safety performance and incidents for management review. Provide training and support to staff on health and safety practices. Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions. Collaborate with management to promote a culture of safety throughout the organisation. Organise/co-ordinate and maintain records for LOLER, Fire, Legionella, etc. Conduct Accident investigations and maintain accident records. Ensure working practices are safe and comply with current legislation Prepare health and safety strategies and develop internal policies Ensure training targets are met and maintained in accordance with current legislation Lead in-house training with managers and employees about Health & Safety issues/risks Liaise with department managers to analyse & identify staff H&S training and development needs, and liaise with external training providers to arrange relevant training sessions for staff Participate in the co-ordination, development and delivery of the company induction programme for new employees, delivering mandatory training in order for them to carry out their duties Identify and source training funding from various funding streams Support emergency planning and drills, ensuring preparedness for fire, evacuation, and first aid scenarios Deliver toolbox talks and relevant training sessions for staff Chair monthly Health & Safety meetings and ensure any actions are followed up Maintain a system for compliance in accordance with the Ethical Trade Initiative (ETI) base code requirements Ensure all H&S records are updated and in the correct format

Requirements



Proven experience in a safety coordination role or similar position Strong report writing skills with attention to detail Ability to conduct root cause analysis effectively Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to the industry is essential First aid certification is preferred but not mandatory Good general education minimum GCSE C or equivalent in English & Maths NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent H&S qualification Proficient IT competencies, including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel & Sharepoint The ability to build and maintain relationships across all levels and departments of the business Self-discipline with ability to work on your own and as part of a team, prioritise tasks and effectively manage time and workload Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
