We are seeking an exceptional Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our dedicated team at a specialist primary SEMH school in Bournemouth.

In this rewarding role, you will work closely with pupils who present with social, emotional and mental health needs and may display challenging behaviour. You'll be a vital part of our supportive staff team--building trusting relationships, helping pupils regulate, and creating meaningful learning experiences.

The Role:



Monday to Friday - full time 8:30 start each day, end times vary from 16:15 to 15:15 throughout the week, totallying 35 hours Start date: ASAP

What You'll Do:



Support teaching and learning across the school, delivering engaging sessions both in small groups and 1:1 Step up and lead whole-class teaching when required, ensuring continuity and high-quality learning Use de-escalation, positive behaviour strategies and trauma-informed approaches Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff and external professionals Help create a safe, nurturing and structured learning environment where every child can thrive

What We're Looking For:



Experienced TA/HLTA with a strong understanding of SEMH needs Confident in managing behaviour with calm, consistency and empathy Able to take initiative and lead learning independently Flexible, patient and able to build positive relationships quickly HLTA qualification (or willingness to work towards it)
