We are seeking a proactive, enthusiastic, and skilled
Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
to join our dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced teaching assistant who is ready to take the next step in their career or an existing HLTA looking for a new challenge.
As an HLTA, you will play a key role in supporting high-quality teaching and learning across the school. You will lead whole-class learning when required, deliver targeted interventions, and work closely with teachers to raise achievement and support pupil progress. The role includes working across the school from EYFS to Year 6; providing routine cover for classes, e.g. PPA cover, planned cover for staff absence or unexpected absence.
Responsibilities
Lead and deliver high-quality learning activities for individuals, small groups, and whole classes.
Support teachers with planning, assessment, and preparation of learning resources.
Deliver targeted interventions to help pupils reach their full potential.
Provide feedback to pupils in line with school policies.
Contribute to creating a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and outside agencies as needed.
Assist with the development of pupils' social, emotional, and behavioural skills.
To teach a whole class in the event of the unplanned absence of a teacher
To advance the learning of a whole class in the event of the planned absence of the teacher.
To support and motivate volunteers, including briefing them on their responsibilities, giving them feedback on their work, and assisting them to resolve any problems that may arise.
We are looking for someone who:
Holds HLTA status
Has experience supporting teaching and learning within a school setting.
Demonstrates strong communication and organisational skills.
Shows initiative, flexibility, and a genuine passion for helping pupils succeed.
Can confidently lead learning in the absence of a teacher.
Has a positive attitude and works well as part of a team.
