Situated on the banks of the River Tweed, Ednam House Hotel is a charming Georgian property steeped in history and character. As part of the prestigious Robert Parker Collection, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional hospitality in a warm and welcoming environment. We're now looking for a dependable, proactive and guest-focused Weekend Night Porter to join our team and be a key figure in ensuring our guests feel safe, cared for and well-supported overnight.
The Role:
As Night Porter, you'll be the face of Ednam House after dark. You'll ensure the smooth running of the hotel throughout the night, from welcoming late arrivals to maintaining security, cleanliness, and guest satisfaction. This is a varied and rewarding role perfect for someone who enjoys quiet hours, takes pride in their work, and has a strong sense of responsibility.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide a warm and professional welcome to late-arriving guests
Ensure guest comfort and safety during the night
Conduct regular security checks throughout the building
Assist with setting up or clearing down event spaces as needed
Carry out basic housekeeping duties and light maintenance tasks
Prepare and set up the restaurant for Breakfast service
Support the front desk with administrative and handover duties
What We're Looking For:
Previous experience in a hotel or customer service role preferred
Confident, calm and approachable under pressure
A natural problem-solver with excellent attention to detail
Trustworthy, reliable and capable of working independently
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Flexibility with working hours, including weekends and holidays
