The Role
The Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless and profitable operation of our hotel. This position is integral to maintaining high standards across all departments, from accommodation and food and beverage outlets to front-of-house services and administrative systems. The Operations Manager will lead and inspire the team, stepping in to manage busy services, and deputising for the General Manager in their absence.
Operational Efficiency
Ensure efficient and profitable operation of hotel accommodations and food and beverage outlets.
Lead service in restaurant and bar
Deputise for the General Manager in their absence.
Collaboration and Communication
Work closely with all departments to ensure efficient communication.
Maintain security awareness by covering duty manager shifts.
Promote the hotel and develop new projects.
Business Activities
Create cost-effective rosters alongside the General Manager.
Manage budgets for crockery, cutlery, and glassware.
Contribute to annual budget planning.
Collaborate with the General Manager and Marketing to ensure timely promotions.
Help oversee hotel social media and marketing campaigns.
Front of House
Respond to customer complaints professionally and efficiently.
Handle difficult situations calmly and effectively.
Assist in any hotel area as needed.
Maintain procedures for stock levels and order supplies.
Ensure all hotel areas are clean and hygienic with adhered-to cleaning rotas.
Attend company meetings and provide timely feedback to management.
Systems Compliance
Ensure daily, weekly, and periodic administration meets company standards and deadlines.
Personnel Management
Oversee and enhance team performance, addressing issues such as punctuality and overall conduct through proactive management and strategic interventions.
Supervise, train, and motivate staff to meet high company standards and comply with food and health and safety regulations.
Identify recruitment needs and develop action plans.
Recruit a team that meets and exceeds customer service standards.
Identify training needs in agreement with the General Manager.
Previous management experience within the hospitality sector is essential.
