Luton, with travel to other services in Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire

Permanent, Full time (37.5 hpw), 9-5 with some flexibility to work evenings on occasions

Pay \xc2\xa311.51 per hour (\xc2\xa322,500 per annum) and great benefits including Health Cash Plan

This is a great opportunity for a Housing Management Coordinator to join our team here in Luton. As our Housing and Property expert, you\xe2\x80\x99ll focus on tenancy support for our customers, ensuring their homes are safe and well maintained. Providing a housing management service, you\xe2\x80\x99ll support them to manage and maintain their tenancy and rent accounts.

Typical day as a Housing Management Coordinator

  • Carrying out daily welfare calls to our more vulnerable customers.
  • Ensuring we are health and safety compliant and that maintenance standards are met.
  • Carrying out essential daily, weekly, and monthly health and safety/compliance tasks such as fire alarm testing, pull cord testing, meter readings.
  • Making sure that our communal areas are homes customers can be proud of, you\xe2\x80\x99ll support your customers by engaging and involving them in their service spends on new furniture.
  • Help our customers with housing benefit claims, making sure that these are received on their rent account.
  • Where there is a need, you\xe2\x80\x99ll also issue and sign warning letters and notices which may lead to attending court.
  • Liaising with internal departments to turn around our vacant properties within set timescales and assess and interview potential new applicants.
  • Organising and running planned events with customers on a regular basis and manging their involvement and welfare budgets.

You bring
  • Experience in managing a housing management caseload and overseeing landlord and housing management duties
  • Know-how of re-letting of rooms or units, collecting rents, and taking formal tenancy action when needed.
  • Able to take on a lead role within the team, offering guidance and support to your colleagues
  • The ability to work on your own initiative, positively influencing people from all different backgrounds.
  • A \xe2\x80\x9ccan do\xe2\x80\x9d positive attitude, you\xe2\x80\x99re proactive and well organised, and able to work on your initiative.
  • Confident working collaboratively with colleagues in other parts of the business as well as with external partners

Job details
  • Working hours are normally 9-5 however we ask for some flexibility to enable us to meet with customers who are working.
  • Based at our service in Luton primarily, however you will also be asked to cover local services when colleagues are on leave
  • Able to use technology for managing diary, creating spread sheets, making benefit claims and doing tenancy signs ups
  • To get from A to B, you\xe2\x80\x99ll need a vehicle insured for business purposes. The great news is that we\xe2\x80\x99ll pay your mileage!
  • You\xe2\x80\x99ll need an Enhanced DBS check done and we pay for that.
