We are seeking a proactive and knowledgeable HR Advisor to join our dynamic and values-led organisation within the waste management sector. In this hands-on, generalist role, you'll play a key part in supporting our operational sites and leadership teams across the North West.
This is a hybrid position, based primarily in the North West, with regular travel to sites and occasional travel to our Rugby office. The successful candidate will be a confident HR generalist with strong employee relations (ER) experience and the ability to build trusted relationships with managers.
You'll be instrumental in fostering a positive workplace culture, ensuring compliance, and supporting continuous improvement across the employee lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Provide high-quality HR advice and support on all areas of employee relations, including disciplinaries, grievances, absence management, and performance issues
Partner with managers to coach and develop strong people management capability
Support HR processes across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, probation reviews, engagement, wellbeing, and organisational change
Maintain up-to-date, accurate employee records using our HRIS and digital tools
Assist in reviewing and updating HR policies, ensuring legal compliance and best practice
Contribute to HR projects including system upgrades, culture initiatives, and training rollouts
About You
CIPD qualified (Level 5 minimum) or working towards, or equivalent practical experience
Strong ER experience with the confidence to manage complex cases independently
Proficient in HR systems and digital tools - experience with BrightHR or a similar HRIS is highly desirable
Self-sufficient, organised, and able to prioritise in a fast-paced, multi-site environment
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Previous experience in an operational setting (waste, logistics, industrial or similar sectors preferred)
Full UK driving licence with willingness to travel across the North West and occasionally to Rugby
