Senior HR Assistant - Group of Companies

Derby | Full Time: Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm | 35,000 per annum

We are a successful and expanding group of businesses with over 200 employees across three diverse sectors:

NK Motors - a leading new & used car dealership with three sites Nicco Restaurant & Cocktail Bar - a large, award-winning hospitality venue Construction & Development - delivering high-quality projects across the region
We're now looking for an experienced Senior HR Assistant to support our growing workforce and ensure our HR function is efficient, compliant, and people-focused.

The Role

Reporting directly to senior management, you will be the first point of contact for HR matters across the group. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who is organised, confident, and experienced in handling HR operations.

Key responsibilities include:

Overseeing day-to-day HR administration and staff support across multiple businesses Supporting recruitment campaigns: drafting job adverts, arranging interviews, issuing contracts Managing staff records, HR systems and compliance documentation Leading employee onboarding and induction programmes Monitoring absence, annual leave and timekeeping records Assisting with employee relations issues, including disciplinaries and grievances Providing guidance to managers on HR policies, procedures, and best practice Ensuring compliance with employment legislation and supporting HR projects as needed

About You

Previous HR experience in an assistant or senior assistant role Strong understanding of HR processes and UK employment law Excellent organisation and communication skills Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks across different industries Confident working independently as well as part of a team
