SUR Construction is looking for an HR Operations Manager to manage and support the day-to-day HR activities across our workforce of permanent and temporary staff. This is a hands-on role supporting the Director and site personnel to ensure smooth HR operations and organized staff processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage daily HR operations, including recruitment, onboarding and staff documentation.
Maintain employee records, files, attendance logs and payroll-related information.
Support managers with HR queries related to performance, absence, conduct and workplace issues.
Prepare and issue contracts, offer letters and other HR correspondence.
Keep HR procedures, forms and staff information up to date and organised.
Improve HR processes such as onboarding, record-keeping and training coordination.
Produce simple HR reports for management (starters, leavers, holidays, absences).
Assist with coordinating temporary labour and maintaining worker records.
Help ensure consistent HR practices across the business.
Requirements:
Essential
5+ years of HR experience, including:
HR operations
HR systems (HRIS) management
Employee lifecycle management
Payroll coordination or oversight
Experience improving HR processes and policies
Previous experience working in HR (HR assistant, HR administrator, HR officer, or similar) - Preferred
Strong organisation and record-keeping skills.
Good communication skills and ability to support managers and staff.
Basic understanding of common HR processes (onboarding, performance, staff records).
Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
Comfortable working independently in a small company environment.
Desirable (Optional)
Experience in HR operations or HR generalist work.
Familiarity with simple HR forms, documents and onboarding processes.
Experience working in construction or an SME (not required but useful).
