Purpose of the Role

Ensuring we achieve the most value from our investment in technology is key, including ensuring the system is fit for purpose and meets business need. This role is key to that objective.

User understanding, and acceptance is crucial, and this team is responsible for contributing to that along with our wider P&T teams. As a HR System Advisor you will provide support and solutions for the short- and long-term enhancements to the HR system portfolio.

As a HR Systems Advisor (Workday) you will play a key role in ensuring the system meets the needs of the organisation. Your expertise in Workday coupled with strong project management and problem-solving skills will enable you to drive successful outcomes and provide guidance to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

As guided by business need, as part of the systems team, deliver improvements

Understand different needs of the business to consider continual improvement and make changes

Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and improvements for our Workday business processes.

Testing new configuration in our non-production tenants to ensure a seamless transition into the live system.

Stay updated with Workday releases, new features to ensure how e can best utilise these for our specific organisation

Provide day to day support to our Operations team including troubleshooting, system maintenance and addressing user enquiries.

The successful candidate will have the ability not to just drive consensus and provide direction but will be seen as a hand on subject matter expert capable of delivering People Data required to solve complex business issues.

Support a continuous improvement approach, proactively identifying improvements and owning changes, working with others where required.

Have a detailed and robust understanding of how Workday and HR Systems operate, and an ability to undertake basic configuration and changes.

Deliver training to users through a multitude of platforms, written and verbal, by having an in-depth knowledge of the business processes, rationale and process steps and be able to translate them into simple and user-friendly training guides.

Alongside the whole systems and data teams, guardian of employee data, ensuring compliance with GDPR, Ofcom data principles and responsible for data integrity and protection.

Regular cyclical activities to endure data is up to date, including, Security role review, publish performance reviews, reorganisations, annual leave carry over

Manage the specific risks and key controls relating to data governance across all People Systems, making sure all necessary activities and processes are in place to support and enable our data protection framework.

Triage, diagnose and resolve errors and/or fixes within the setup, identified by end users, business process events and/or other problems that occur \xe2\x80\x93 and correct these in line with the Design Authority/Governance approval route.

Support the systems manager and ICT teams with bi-annual releases / general system updates

Key part of testing, drafting test scripts and co-ordinating test outputs

Supporting new system projects, either within Workday or other P&T systems.

Contribute to an open and transparent culture of risk management and demonstrate a strong awareness of the risks that should be managed within the responsibilities of the role; and deliver responsibilities in line with all relevant risk appetites, policy and reporting

Understanding of payroll, and IT business processes as well as inter departmental functions and interdependencies.

Skills, knowledge and experience

HRIS system administration experience (Preferably in Workday), including basic configuration and understanding of change requests and business processes.

Customer service mindset, using system knowledge and expertise to enhance user experience and support efficient and robust business processes.

Inquisitive and curious with a desire for continually improving our system.

Data understanding, including basic GDPR regulations and the ability to report and manipulate data through excel.

Commercial and pragmatic approach to problem solving, whilst maintain system integrity and a quality output.

Time management and planning skills that allow you to manage your own time effectively and meet deadlines and objectives.

Self-motivated and proactive with the ability to work on own initiative and offer new ideas.

Clear ability to consider the end user experience in all that the system does.

Strong relationship building, influencing and communication & presentation skills.
