The Project Controller Group are a dedicated team of Finance Professionals based across multiple locations in the UK. Our purpose is to make sure that the projects we work on with clients follow all the right compliance guidelines and regulations, for finance and operations.
We bring specialist skills to the Deloitte Technology & Transformation business, supporting with risk management, making sure clients are charged properly and reporting on profit and loss. We're a real team and we support each other to work together on bigger projects. But we also give everyone the freedom to work independently, so you can grow and develop your career in your own way.
What skills and academic qualifications do I need?
You will need to have obtained or be studying towards at least 104 UCAS points (260 UCAS points pre-2017) for your A levels (or equivalent) to be eligible for this programme. This is a degree apprenticeship; therefore, you need to have not already completed a degree.
As part of the BrightStart programme you will study towards the Accounting with Management BSc (Hons) at Ulster University.
What kind of work will I do?
As a
PCG Financial Controller
, you will have a field of vision shared by few others--you'll support running large and complex programme finances and give a clear view of project financial performance to help our business leaders make the right decisions. Some of the key activities you will be undertaking include:
Production of monthly Profit & Loss and financial status reporting.
Management of project financials, including creating codes, billing and collecting cash.
Opportunities to work with senior stakeholders and Deloitte's largest FTSE100 and global clients.
Using your technical skills, communication skills, and growing project accounting knowledge you will be a trusted advisor for our business leaders.
You will help shape our large-scale projects and help prevent and manage financial risks.
Where will I work?
At Deloitte we recognise how important face-to-face interaction is for your development in a new role. We also understand that our people need flexibility, which is why we operate a hybrid system, with a combination of office and home working. If you're in a client-facing role, you might be expected to attend client sites on certain days, while your meetings will be a mix of online and in-person events. Please note your final assessment and induction will also be in-person, to give you the opportunity to network and build relationships.

Our dedicated Technology & Transformation Early Experience team support you from your first day.
You will attend our amazing Analyst Induction Programme (AIP) alongside Industrial Placement and Graduate new joiners to learn about the firm, our culture and how we work - this is bespoke to our Technology & Transformation business.
You will meet many team members from your business area, including your People Leader and Resource Manager, and make a few friends along the way.
Following AIP you move into more specific business area training - all exciting and very relevant to your future client/project engagements.
