This is a broad and wide-ranging opportunity that will offer the successful candidate the autonomy to effectively own the function, leading on the many elements that a management role in an SME offers. The role will report to the company's Chief Operating Officer and work closely with colleagues throughout the business (current headcount of more than 20 employees).
Responsibilities
- Support the HR function to nurture a positive workplace culture
- Offer high quality ER advice to managers and employees throughout the business
- Assume a lead role in all aspects of the company's recruitment and onboarding processes
- Lead performance management systems and initiatives
- Monitor and analyse sickness and absences
- Manage grievance and disciplinary processes
- Administer employee rewards and benefits initiatives
- Lead on the company's workplace wellness policy
- Lead on operational functions i.e. asset management, premises and insurances
Qualifications
Proven experience as an HR Manager or similar role within a fast-paced environment
Strong knowledge of human resources principles, practices, and employment legislation
Excellent communication skills
Strong data analysis skills to interpret metrics effectively for decision-making purpose
A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong organisational skills
Our ideal candidate will have a background gained in a similar sized SME and will be operating at CIPD level 5 or above. They will have up to date knowledge of employment legislation and proven experience in enhancing and improving existing processes.
They will be a well-known and respected member of the team so great communication skills, and a cheerful disposition will be essential.
