If you\'re an aspiring IT Support Technician, then we have the role for you! Harborough District Council has a small, dedicated IT team who will be delivering many change projects over the next two years. They are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join them in a Service Desk role. This means you will get involved with providing first-line support to their users, assist with routine maintenance and assist in the delivery of some aspects of their projects. Their users are either based in the main Council offices or at remote locations, including homes, so you will learn to diagnose issues remotely.

What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Providing 1st line support to Harborough District Council users and elected members
  • Use Harborough District Council service desk software to manage calls
  • Assist in the diagnosis of technical issues
  • Undertake routine maintenance, such as patching and updates
  • Assist in the management of the asset register and auditing of system records
  • Assist in the setup and distribution of new and replacement equipment to users
  • Create and maintain IT documentation
  • Undertake basic project management

You\'ll get hands-on experience in all areas of technical support, from configuring devices to supporting with software, optimising performance, and setting up virtual environments.

With our exciting curriculum and one-to-one support, you\'ll accelerate your skills and get the qualification and confidence you need to thrive in IT.
  • COURSE 1: SUPPORTING IT ARCHITECTURE
  • COURSE 2: WORKING WITH END-USER DEVICES
  • COURSE 3: WORKING WITH NETWORK ARCHITECTURE
Your training will be delivered in blocks every 4-6 weeks; this will be in our online SMART classrooms. Upon completing the apprenticeship, you will receive a Level 3 Information Communications Technician qualification.
