We are currently seeking reliable and focused individual to join our team as ICT Assistant, based at our Head Office in Dundee.

Job Purpose



You will respond to user IT queries received via helpdesk, phone, email and in person, ensuring support incidents and requests are managed through to resolution for system users across the UK, including employees based at the Dundee Head Office, field staff and home based workers.

This post requires the ability to work in a dynamic and varied business environment, supporting a range of different systems.

Key Responsibilities



Install and configure computer hardware, operating systems and software applications to agreed configurations/specifications. Undertake basic networking troubleshooting. Daily IT housekeeping activities as per the IT Daily / Weekly / Monthly Checklists. Regular scheduled IT maintenance procedures as per the IT Maintenance Schedule. Identify and suggest improvement to IT Support delivery. Ensure compliance with audit and software license requirements. Liaise with 3rd party suppliers to ensure support is provided to SLA. Provision of 1st level IT Support on all IT systems for Dundee, field staff and home workers. Provision of backup IT Support to all other business locations as required. Escalation of IT issues within the team to ensure resolution is timely. Completed IT Daily / Weekly / Monthly housekeeping and maintenance check-lists. User IT administration including removal of leavers security access in a timely manner. Acquisition of IT equipment and consumables etc. where a line manager supplies approval and budget code. Install and configure computer hardware, operating systems and software applications to agreed configurations/specifications, including mobile devices.

Customer Responsibilities



Understand the departments customer needs and in turn the customer service targets and work with your colleagues effectively to achieve these. Follow established business processes to achieve customer service targets and promote the understanding of these across the team. Provide basic training for end users including Office/Home/ Mobile Workers / Sales Reps / Engineers either in person or remotely. Actively seek ways to improve customer service and business efficiencies Ambassador of company goals, values and behaviours

Key Result Areas:



Core systems availability above 99%. IT Helpdesk SLA's met for 95% of tickets IT Helpdesk system up to date High customer satisfaction through resolution of incidents to agreed targets IT Asset Database up to date. Ensure Asset Management procedures are adhered to including accurate, up-to-date records of all hardware, software in use and licences owned. IT Checklists filed for audit trail. Knowledge acquired to be able to support all IT systems. Approximately 10% of time allocated to assisting with improvement projects.

Person Specification



Qualifications



Ideally a person with an IT related college qualification.

Formal qualification in IT related discipline was be desirable.

Experience



Minimum of 2 years in a similar role, environment with similar core systems.

Skills and Competences



Knowledge of PC hardware and peripherals. Knowledge of Microsoft systems and applications. Knowledge of networks, local and wide area, including DHCP, DNS, AD, WSUS. Ability to perform IT administration such as create new network users and configure appropriate security access.

Knowledge of SAP would be advantageous. Knowledge of Mitel systems would be advantageous.
