We are seeking a skilled and passionate Indian Curry Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food preparation and production, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to food safety standards. As a Chef, you will play a pivotal role in creating exceptional dining experiences while managing kitchen operations and leading a team of culinary professionals.
Responsibilities
Cook high-quality Indian dishes in accordance with the restaurant's menu and Prepare standards.
Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient food preparation and service.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations at all times.
Assist in menu planning, recipe development, and the presentation of dishes to enhance guest satisfaction.
Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and ingredients, placing orders as necessary to ensure availability.
Able to blend Indian spices and traditional ingredients to develop new Indian curies.
Train new kitchen staff on cooking techniques, food safety practices, and restaurant policies.
Following the budget set by the owners
Ordering food for the kitchen
Monitoring food production and food and staff costs
Managing relationships with distributors and resolving any issues with vendors promptly
Ensuring standard portions and quality of dishes
Maintaining a clean and safe kitchen and ensuring sanitation practices in the kitchen
Maintaining 5 star EHO standards in the kitchen
Requirements
Proven experience as a Curry Chef or in a Indian culinary role.
Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
Proficient in food preparation techniques and culinary arts.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Exceptional organisational skills with the capability to multitask effectively.
A passion for hospitality and delivering outstanding customer service.
Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
