Job Overview


The Fiddichside Inn is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Inn Manager to oversee pub operations and ensure exceptional service delivery in our iconic rural inn. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and an ability to engage with both regular patrons and new visitors. This role requires a hands-on, proactive approach to staff management, customer experience, and the smooth running of daily pub operations.

Key Duties



Lead and supervise staff, ensuring motivation and high standards of customer service Oversee day-to-day pub operations, including bar management, stock control, and guest relations Develop and implement strategies to enhance guest satisfaction and loyalty, fostering a welcoming community atmosphere Manage HR functions, such as recruitment, training, and performance evaluations Respond professionally to guest feedback or complaints, ensuring prompt resolution Ensure compliance with UK alcohol licensing and health & safety regulations (Personal Licence holder preferred) Promote a safe working environment for staff and guests Monitor financial performance, assist with budgeting, and coordinate with suppliers as needed Support community engagement and assist with organising or promoting events (e.g., tastings, local gatherings)

Required Skills & Experience



Proven leadership abilities and experience supervising teams in hospitality, ideally in a pub or inn environment Strong track record in customer service, ensuring excellent guest experiences Good understanding of UK pub/inn operations and licensing requirements Knowledge of human resources practices, including recruitment and employee development Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with guests, staff, and the local community Flexible approach with willingness to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus, but not essential Experience with community events, marketing, or social media promotion is desirable
