Priory Lichfield Road is a community facing rehabilitation and recovery service set within a modern, purpose-built facility, specifically designed to support both males and females who have severe, complex and enduring mental health needs, which might include treatment-resistant conditions.
The role:
We are looking for an enthusiastic, engaging and skilled Director of Clinical Services (DoCS) to join our highly committed, dynamic and quality driven team. You will be joining us during a period of embedding significant positive change.
Reporting into the Hospital Director, you will form part of the hospital senior management team. You will be wholly responsible for operational leadership of the clinical teams across the hospital; you will also be responsible and accountable for ensuring the highest level of patient care is provided at all times.
As our DoCS you will play a crucial role in developing and delivering the hospital strategy, providing operational as well as clinical leadership, you will ensure the highest level of clinical, and therapeutic outcomes are achieved. You will also be central to forging positive professional relationships with other health and social care professionals external to the service, and for ensuring full compliance with legislation, statutory regulations, organisational and local policies, procedures and professional standards.
Qualifications and experience:
Must be registered with either NMC or HCPC
A detailed understanding of statutory regulations is essential
Passionate about providing high quality care and continuous improvement
Demonstrated leadership and decision making skills essential
Forward thinking, proactive and creative
The ability to deal with multiple issues simultaneously in a highly dynamic environment
High levels of integrity and boundaries
Experience of working at a supervisory or managerial level within a relevant clinical setting; minimum 2 years working as a Ward Manager or equivalent
Experience of managing a clinical budget desired but not essential
Strong background within leadership and people management
Experience of leading, implementing and reviewing quality initiatives in a related environment
Strong track record of innovation and creating a positive, proactive and engaging culture
The successful candidate will be expected to participate in the On-call SMT rota for the local region, which is supported by an On-call Senior Nurse and On-call Consultant.
