Piglets Pantry is an award-winning food producer based in West Sussex. We supply handmade pies, sausage rolls, and other savoury and patisserie delights to corporate venues and customers across the UK and alongside an e-commerce platform selling directly to the public. We also provide hospitality, events and retail teams at Portsmouth Football Club and have a retail outlet at Brighton Train Station.
Summary
Reporting to the Head of People, the Internal Recruiter will streamline our recruitment across the organisation. The successful candidate will take on all elements of recruitment and initial onboarding for Piglets HQ in Worthing, and for the casual workforce supporting Portsmouth Football Club, Brighton Station and other sites should they arise.
Principal Responsibilities/Duties
Collaborate with departmental heads to identify current and future hiring needs.
Develop and post job advertisements on appropriate platforms.
Screen applications and shortlist candidates based on job requirements and organisational fit.
Coordinate and conduct interviews, assessments, and reference checks.
Manage the offer process, including salary negotiation within budget parameters.
Support new employees through the onboarding process, ensuring a smooth transition into the company.
Attend recruitment events and freshers fairs
Maintain accurate records of recruitment activity and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
Promote employer branding initiatives to attract top talent.
Utilise HR and workforce planning software to maintain accurate records and help ensure shifts are filled
Ensure compliance with all relevant employment legislation and company policies.
Deliver initial training for new employees as part of onboarding and induction
Suggest and implement improvements to recruitment and onboarding procedures in collaboration with the People Team.
Support the wider People Team with HR initiatives and processes as necessary
Essential Skills & Experience
Previous experience in recruitment and onboarding, preferably within an internal environment.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport across all levels of the organisation.
Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
Good understanding of employment law and best practices in recruitment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information
Desirable Skills & Experience
Car user preferred due to need to travel between our sites across Sussex
As part of the People Team, experience and understanding of other areas of HR is desirable
Understanding of wider factors of employment law
Professional HR qualification or certification (e.g., CIPD), is advantageous.
