Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and commercially minded
International Sales Manager
to lead the company's export and international growth strategy across UK, Europe, North America, and Rest of World (RoW). This high-impact role focuses on new business development, building and managing distribution channels, deepening relationships with overseas customers, and ensuring smooth export operations.
The successful candidate will combine excellent sales acumen with a strong understanding of export processes, international customer engagement, and overseas market development. This is a hands-on role where your commercial drive, curiosity, and ability to build long-term customer relationships will directly shape the company's international trajectory.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering sales growth both within and outside the UK, ideally within textiles sectors such as food packaging manufacturing, automotive, upholstery, or technical fabrics, and will be confident in sharing the strategies behind their success.
Key Responsibilities
International Sales & Market Expansion
Drive new business development both within and outside the UK by identifying prospects, nurturing leads, and converting opportunities into long-term customers.
Support and continue to establish export distribution partnerships
Research and evaluate new international markets, including competitor analysis, customer segmentation, and identifying local demand drivers.
Attend international trade shows, customer visits, and industry events to promote the business.
Export & Compliance
Assist with export documentation, compliance, and logistics to ensure smooth delivery of international orders.
Understanding international customers standards and certifications to ensure the correct product fit
Account Management
Manage and grow key international accounts by building strong, long-term relationships and providing excellent customer service.
Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities across the product portfolio.
Prepare quotations, negotiate pricing, and close sales with a proactive and structured follow-up process.
Maintain accurate CRM records and reporting for international activity.
Marketing & Commercial Support
Assist in co-developing a robust commercial plan and support in the planning and execution of marketing campaigns tailored to international markets, including email campaigns, product launches, and industry outreach.[A1]
Help develop sales materials (brochures, presentations, case studies) adapted for overseas customers.
Track and analyse marketing performance and customer engagement across markets.
Ideal Candidate Profile
5+ years' experience in B2B international sales, ideally in manufacturing, industrial products, textiles, or technical materials.
Strong understanding of export processes, international logistics, and working with overseas customers.
Proven experience growing sales internationally (Europe, North America, or RoW).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deliver confident presentations to international audiences.
Proactive, organised, and highly target-driven.
Comfortable working both independently and as part of a small, collaborative team.
Confident using CRM systems, digital tools, and LinkedIn for outreach.
Full UK driving licence and willingness to undertake international travel as required.
