As Interpretation Admin Assistant, you'll provide essential administrative support to the Interpretation Team, helping to deliver engaging, accurate, and accessible content across the Museum. From coordinating schedules and managing documentation to supporting events and liaising with volunteers, you'll be contributing meaningfully to our programmes and visitor experience.
Key responsibilities
Provide administrative support for interpretation projects, including scheduling, documentation, and communication.
Assist with the coordination of volunteers and freelance interpreters/demonstrators.
Maintain accurate records and databases related to interpretation activities.
Support the planning and delivery of events and exhibitions.
Liaise with internal departments and external partners to ensure effective communication.
Prepare reports, presentations, and materials as required.
Respond to enquiries related to interpretation activities.
Assist with budget tracking and procurement processes.
Assist the Interpretation manager in the care and documentation of interpretation resources.
Person specification
Essential:
Strong administrative and organisational skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
A proactive and flexible approach to work.
Desirable:
Experience working in a museum, heritage, or cultural organisation.
Knowledge of interpretation or public engagement practices.
