Job Description


To ensure the stability, security and availability of FNB's infrastructure and IT environments through managing and controlling outsourced partners and internal support teams is responsible for managing the implementation, maintenance and support of the various technologies used within the Organization through the server and storage teams in accordance with best practices.
Roles and responsibilitiesLead and facilitate difficult conflict situations into consensual agreements Integrate opinions and information provided by various sources to make strategic decisions Continually scan the industry to identify opportunities to create strategic partnerships with key individuals and bodies Analyse the services portfolio in terms of what is working and what is not, and re-define criteria, priorities, strategy, processes, and metrics accordingly Analyse where services could best be run from and their viability back into the business Ensure SLAs are updated to meet and measure expectations Monitor and control all infrastructure events against SLAs and client expectations, and take remedial action as and when required Look for ways to optimise efficiencies, ensuring different components integrate in ways that minimise wastage and ensure optimal uptime and usability Create a governance framework for the management of all infrastructure events Communicate, maintain, and update the framework to ensure its continued relevance Monitor and manage compliance to the framework Control and manage all services components and configurations Keep asset registers and configuration libraries and CIs up-to-date Ensure effective monitoring and back-up management Report on risk and security to relevant committees Provide business-specific monthly reports to BDMs on environment management focused particularly on issues of availability and capacity against SLA metrics Provide monthly management reports to the Head of Infrastructure and Service Management Take full responsibility for performance management of all direct reports managing their performance in relation to quality standards and agreed benchmarks and objectives focusing on all aspects of sound people management Ensure appropriate levels of management and accountability Motivate, delegate, and empower appropriately, enabling direct reports to take responsibility and display appropriate creativity and initiative Work with the team to actively grow their skills and lead them in operational excellence Ensures continuous process improvement to enable effective operational processes Manages hardware and software project implementations Ensures customer excellence through interaction with internal and external customers throughout all business activities

Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree (e.g., MBA or MSc in IT Management) an added advantage.
Certifications on below is an added advantage:ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) - for IT service management. PMP (Project Management Professional) - for project leadership. CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) - for cybersecurity. Cloud certifications - such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Administrator, or Google Cloud Professional. VMware, Cisco (CCNA/CCNP), or Microsoft (MCSA/MCSE) certifications.

Experience3 years in IT Infrastructure and Networks 3-5 years in senior role, preferably in financial services Project Experience: Proven track record in managing infrastructure upgrades, cloud migrations, or data centre transitions and systems architecture Technology Exposure: Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, virtualization and enterprise systems
