Role Summary



Due to expansion, a new position has arisen for an assistant in the IT department. Reporting directly to the Head of IT, you would be responsible for managing the new starters and leavers process in the Stafford office, including ordering and maintaining hardware/laptops, and manging software subscriptions. Assisting our main IT support contractor, you will contribute to smooth the day-to-day operations of the company.



You will also assist in the longer-term digital transformation of the Ethical Power Group, assisting with all phases of the process, from the initial discovery period through to the final implementation and operation. This would include assisting with steering groups, ensuring that actions agreed by stakeholders are completed, drawing up department requirements, liaising with potential vendors, and collating data required for implementation.



Location



The successful candidate will be expected to be able to attend the GTDS Stafford offices a minimum of three days a week, and the Ethical Power Bristol offices a minimum of once a fortnight. Transport costs would be covered for visits to the Bristol office.



Main Responsibilities



Support users with queries related to Microsoft 365 products and products from other vendors.



Manage IT hardware assets in the Stafford office, pre-configuring Windows PC's for our IT support contractor, maintaining accurate hardware records.



Manage the joiners/movers/leavers process in the Stafford office.



Working with third party hardware and software vendors to fulfil changes to license and equipment requirements.



Working closely with the IT support desk to feedback on support calls and ongoing issues.



Assist with creation and delivery of in-house training.



Person Specification



Essential



Be able to make effective and logical decisions with all information available.



Work well both independently and as part of a team.



A passion for delivering an accurate and assured service.



Basic experience with MS Excel, Outlook, Word, MS Windows setup and configuration.



Keen to build a greater understanding of how the other departmental areas of the company function



Desirable



Experience of Microsoft 365/Azure administration.



Experience of IT hardware maintenance and management.



Experience of IT ticketing systems.



Experience in IT Project management.



Advanced experience with one or more of MS Excel, Outlook, Word, MS Windows setup and configuration.
