About the Role
As a
Youth Learning Mentor
, you will:
Create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment
Support learners with additional needs or challenging behaviour
Manage classroom behaviour and promote positive participation
Provide 1:1 and group mentoring to support learners' progress
Supervise learners during breaks and activities
Lead and support learner enrichment sessions and off-site trips
Use appropriate de-escalation techniques or physical intervention where necessary (full training provided)
Assist Skills Tutors with delivering the curriculum and developing learning resources
Track learner attendance, progress, and provide admin support
Champion safeguarding, equality, and learner wellbeing
Travel between delivery centres may be required
What We're Looking For
Experience working with young people, particularly those who are disengaged or have Additional Learning Needs (ALN)
Ability to manage challenging behaviour with confidence
Youth Work or Teaching Assistant qualification (or willingness to work towards one)
Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C or above
Strong team player with a positive, proactive attitude
Passion for learning, creativity, and making a difference
Welsh language skills are desirable but not essential
