Otley Garden Centre

Hours:

30 hours per week

Shift Pattern:

8:30am - 4:30pm on Mondays & Tuesdays, 8am - 4pm on Saturdays & Sundays

Pay:

ranging from minimum wage to 12.41 per hour dependent on experience.

A new opportunity has risen for an experienced Junior Chef or Cook to join our Otley Garden Centre Team in our newly refurbished restaurant!


Our busy restaurant serves freshly prepared breakfasts, hearty lunches, and homemade scones to hundreds of guests each week - all within the beautiful surroundings of one of Yorkshire's most popular garden centres.

Key responsibilities:

To prepare, cook & produce quality food in line with our standards. Minimise waste (portion control, complaints, quality, presentation, mistakes). Ensuring that health & safety and food hygiene standards are always met. Contribute as necessary to the improvement/changes to the menu, production methods and environment. Ensure that all work surfaces are clean and tidy "clean as you go" at all times and that all equipment is clean and in a safe working order. To maintain high standards of cleanliness in the kitchen such as deep cleaning, extraction, cookers and ovens. Supporting the Head Chef & Catering Manager in delivering excellent service.

About You:

Proven kitchen skills with experience in a fast-paced cafe or daytime dining venue Experience using fryers and cooking form specs. Passionate about food quality, consistency, and customer experience Highly organised, efficient, and able to thrive under pressure Up-to-date food hygiene certification (Level 3 preferred) Proficient in stock management and ordering (desirable but not essential) Positive, hands-on attitude and a strong team ethic
