MFC equipment is used by fire brigades, mountain and lowland rescue, utilities, the military and humanitarian support organisations. MFC manufacturing is located in the Rhondda Valley, north of Cardiff.

Role Overview

We're looking for a Junior Design Engineer to join our growing team in Tonypandy. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the design and development of inflatable rescue and safety products. You'll work alongside experienced engineers, gaining hands-on experience in CAD design, prototyping, and product testing.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Assist in the design and development of inflatable safety and rescue products Create and modify 2D and 3D CAD models and technical drawings Support prototype development and testing activities Collaborate with production, quality, and procurement teams to ensure design feasibility Conduct basic engineering calculations and material assessments Maintain accurate design documentation and adhere to industry standards Participate in design reviews and contribute to problem-solving discussions Stay informed about new materials, technologies, and manufacturing techniques relevant to inflatable products Collecting operational data to develop standard operating procedures and establish manufacturing timing benchmarks.Essential Qualifications & Skills Degree or HND in Product Design, Design Engineering or a related field

Desirable Qualifications & Skills

Experience working in a manufacturing environment Experience with textiles welding, or inflatable structures
